on November 24, 2011 "First time Roku user. I finally decided to buy the LT after agonizing over which model to buy because despite the failure to meet several expectations by the higher end models, the price point of the LT makes all of those failures quite forgivable. I just got the LT yesterday and set up was quite easy. I have a small 21'' flatscreen tv so the AV jack that comes with the product is quite sufficient for picture quality. It is not much different from using the HDMI cable used for my bf's PS3. The product from Amazon does not have the new Netflix, Pandora, and Crackle Buttons on the remote control, but I did not think it was worth paying an extra $10 for shipping from the Roku website just for that remote. Retrieving content from Netflix does seem to take a few seconds longer compared to using a PS3. Also, it is true that the picture quality starts with SD and then gradually changes to HD. This only takes about a minute. If all you want is to stream content from Netflix, Pandora, etc. and don't care about it not having a USB drive, the LT will do the job for a very reasonable price. After reading so many reviews about the Roku 2XS and how people needed to uninstall Angry Birds to get the thing to do its basic functions, I feel the LT is a safe investment and will get you a lot of bang for your buck. If you are worried about no 1080p, the picture quality is not very different as the CNet review points out. I couldn't tell the difference between Netflix output from the Roku and PS3."

on November 20, 2011 "Great little device that allows the viewer to watch streaming video from numerous providers, such as, Netflix (I cancelled my DVD rental part of their program) & Amazon........., and also play games and watch news cast (CBS, NBC, CNN, PBS.....). As an Amazon Prime member, you'll have access to a huge selection of free streaming movies and TV shows as well as your Amazon Digital library of purchases. Very easy to setup and use, and even with three of these sharing my FiOS bandwidth simultaneously I haven't noticed any lag or loss of quality. This LT unit was the perfect choice for a bedroom TV that doesn't get watched quite as much as the primary sets. The price is awesome for everything you get, just be sure you understand that the LT is only capable of 720p video. "
